Life is getting so busy. We are in the season where sometimes it feels like my husband and I are ships passing in the night.
We both work from home, so technically we see each other all the time. But the quality of our time spent is different. It gets to the point where we now crave time apart from each other. Often times you’ll find Nick upstairs catching up on his shows and me downstairs doing the same.
Date nights are an important factor in cultivating a heathy relationship. It sets time apart from your everyday bustle to slow down and enjoy the one on one moments. You paid for a sitter, you have to enjoy it!
We have only lived in Arizona for a few short months but I am finding more and more unique places to spend that time.
The Desert Botanical Garden features many of the native plants and flowers in such a stunning and peaceful way that I was immediately attracted to spending my evening there.
There is a delicious and beautiful restaurant called Gertrude’s where you can eat fresh food and enjoy the botanical views.
As you walk and learn of the many plants and smell the flowers, you hear bees buzzing and birds chirping you feel as though you’ve walked into an oasis of nature. I didn’t realize how beautiful the desert was until summer hit. The sunsets, the warm glow, and the tall and powerful cacti, it was reassuring that we didn’t leave heaven (San Diego) for dry desert 😉
There are many programs that the DBG do each year. There are concerts, shows and now they are featuring flash light tours for kids! So fun!
But for us, we enjoyed the kid free night, the night was cool, the sunset was beautiful and the scene was a good natural reset for our minds and soul!
What are your favorite dates? Do you like to explore your city? Tell me your tips for changing up the “movie and dinner” date!
Thank you to the Desert Botanical Garden for sponsoring our date. All opinions are mine and true! If you want more ticket and program information you can visit their site here: Desert Botanical Garden
