The holidays are here. It’s the happiest time of year and can be the most frustrating. Some of us spend an inordinate amount of time trying to make our homes like magazine covers, posts on Facebook and picture perfect homes decked out everywhere in social media. They just aren’t the reality of us simple folk and I’m forgetting what Christmas is all about.
It’s about family and the Christmas spirit that makes us want to reach out in love to others, to be a little better and kinder to our neighbors. Especially those people who work in retail. Many will be working on Christmas Eve. They are truly a part of our human family and we can try to be less frustrated and demanding in the chaos which is not of their making. Many won’t be spending Christmas Eve with their families.
So stop rushing around trying to copy those picture perfect homes and focus on the things that matter. Spend a little less money, give to those less fortunate and reach out to the family next door. It’s the time of year to reflect on what we do have not about the glitz we don’t have.
Out of my closet I put together this simple outfit. Santa red sweater, sparkly gold belt with a sweet little bow and pretty pleated skirt. No shopping, no extra dollars.
Merry Christmas Everyone!!
