I have a favorite spot in my house. Though I don’t sit there everyday, I love how I feel when I pass by this little area at the top of my stairs. It’s mine, where I have all my creations and my “stuff”. Sometimes when I walk past, I get a burst of creativity. If I worked from home this space would definitely be my office. But I don’t particularly want to imagine sitting at another desk right now, I just want to veg….
Ninety percent of my office is DIY. I wish I could say I have an amazing area with custom made furniture, but that wouldn’t be me. One day, maybe, when I am ultra rich…but this is real life and I’m a working soon to-be mama with real life billz!
My desk is from Ikea $79.00
The shelf above the desk is also from Ikea, but I spray painted the bars gold.
I spray painted the picture frame gold as well. I also made the little flower hearts out of cardboard boxes I painted then glued the flowers inside.
To make the cute cork board squares I first bought these from Target.
I covered the squares by using spray glue and this perfect Gold Dot Burlap from JoAnns
These adorable magazine holders I made as well, you can view the whole tutorial here
I always love getting a glimpse of how people live and where they get their creative ideas. I love displaying momentos from trips, old pictures and trinkets from places I’ve visited.
I want to be more organized this year, using planners and notebooks. I am old school and need to write things down in order for my brain to remember.
Here are items on my desk
