I have a deep, true love for Coca-Cola. Restaurants that don’t serve Coke, mostly ruins my dining experience. I’ve never turned around and walked out but really, don’t things go better with Coke? So yes, no Coke, no happy me, no happy server. Friends like to drink with friends, they say. One of my best girlfriends, Taylor, gets equally distraught. I would say we are Coke drinking buddies. Sharing drinks through heart to hearts, good times, and those times only good friends understand.
Over the 4th of July weekend, my bestie graciously took care of our cats. Not just in and out cat care, but caring for our new baby kitty, Roo (short for kangaroo), still drinking milk with two trips a day. Plus ensuring big sister Catniss wasn’t plotting a kitty assassination.
The cats were happy and well fed when we walked through the door. How could I ever thank her in a unique way with something she would enjoy!?
Stopping at a Walmart for some return road trip food and drinks, they were having their “Share a Coke” campaign. How cool is that?! I was so excited! They were offering Coke bottles with names printed on the labels. If you’re among 250 most popular names, you will find a Coke with you on it. Like “Nick”. But not “Alia”. Sad. It was a perfect way to tell my drinking buddy how much she is loved and appreciated!
I found a bottle with Taylor’s name grabbed our snacks and headed back home.
Because I love Coke so much, it’s always nice to mix things up a bit. Dirty Coke has become a bit of a cult favorite. Don’t be fooled by the name, it’s only dirty because the pure coke flavor has been tainted with even more deliciousness!
Cast of ingredients: Coca-Cola (diet, zero or regular, don’t use cherry, though It might be good..hmm)
1 Lime / Half & Half (optional) / Coconut Syrup (there is also sugar free ) / 1 cup of ice
Fill the cup about 3/4 full
Add about 1 tbls of coconut syrup, squeeze half a lime, add some wedges and a dash of Half & Half
This is like drinking a Jamaican vacation. Close your eyes, take a sip and you can hear the metal drums, smell the salty air, and coconut? It’s in the palm trees overhead with blue sky peeking through. Then you open your eyes and it’s back to reality. But that’s why Coke makes 20 oz bottles and 12 oz cans, and you can make endless drinks to whisk you away to happiness in your own home!
To thank Taylor I made her a cute package with a movie, popcorn, her personalized bottle, limes, some coconut syrup and cute earrings!
I loved I was able to make a unique thank you around this cool little bottle of Coke for one of my dear friends. Watching others’ pets is a big task and I couldn’t be more grateful!
These two little four legged fur babies keep us busy and make us question our sanity.
I’m so thankful for good friends but I mean, really, how could you not want to feed this new baby?!
Go visit your Walmart today and find a bottle with your name on it, or a friend’s! I promise it will make someone’s day!
