Remember when friends and families in your neighborhood pulled out folding tables, brought out the potato salads, beans even jello! Someone had a generous bowl of cherries and kids were spitting the pits out everywhere. No one cared.
There were buns for those grilled hamburgers burned on the outside raw on the inside and charred hot dogs. Parents and friends would haul out those lawn chairs with fraying edges, talking and laughing while the kids just ran all over the place. Then came the sunset and the designated fireworks person (your dad) started the party and we all watched the greatest fireworks there ever was. Then out came the marshmallows and coat hangers.
And of course the family baseball game. Maybe this isn’t how it is anymore but I love the thought of it and this vintage outfit so reminds me of a simpler time. Sparklers in the street, glitzy fun sun glasses and screams of HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!!!!!!
