Las Vegas opened the beautiful Smith Center for the Performing Arts a little over 2 years ago. It’s the home of the Las Vegas Philharmonic and Nevada Ballet Theater. It hosts dance companies, music from all different genres and the most exciting to me, Broadway musicals!
A wonderful way children can be exposed to music, ballet and art is Little Einsteins. My nieces love them. If you aren’t familiar, it’s an educational cartoon that features a classical piece of music and a work of art on every show. I remember one episode when the music played, you could see the notes in rainbow colors! I loved it. How exciting to take them to the Smith Center where they’ll be able to recognize classical music pieces!
The Cabaret Jazz room at the Smith offers a different kind of music. You get a classy nightclub atmosphere (think New York) and everything from jazz to rock.
Wicked will be coming to the Smith Center in October. Talk about rich vibrant colors over the rainbow…it’s a visual treat.
I can’t wait!
