When I wore this outfit the lyrics to the Rolling Stones song, Paint It Black, came into my head especially with this background.
I also remember playing this song really well on guitar hero.
Hailing from the east coast, where black is the norm, I’m always tempted to buy more. The infamous “little black dress” and formal suits are ingrained in our brains that black must be a staple somewhere in our wardrobe. And it must be, but perhaps not a closet full with only a lone red or teal dress peeking out from behind the curtains.
Like my mother’s closet. My mother is renowned for wearing all black. No mind boggling decisions on what necklace to wear, color shoes or what among a rainbow of colored purses go with what ensemble she explains. But that’s the point! It’s color that makes black look a little less unhappy. She should vary it a bit, maybe she’ll read this.
Black is flattering on almost everyone but it needs some color. All bright colors look especially good with black. So add some, add a lot and you won’t look like you’re going to a funeral!
