We don’t need designer clothes or anything designer. (Although that statement is relative.)
We can certainly find good things, even great things in stores like T.J.Maxx and Marshalls. We can even find unique things at Target or boutiques and websites. There are a myriad of ways to have clothes we love without dipping into our savings and worrying about bankruptcy.
Sometimes, you can find some amazing designers at these stores. Even Target will collabroate with a known designer for a special promotion.
But you won’t find a Missoni dress, a Fendi purse or Stella McCartney pumps.
I am a fan of Ebay. Who hasn’t trolled those virtual aisles at least once in their lives. I’ve been fooled by deceptive descriptions or too good to be true photos of so-called designer items. These fraudulent sellers try to pass on luxury goods to unaware buyers. Ebay is no longer a trusted source for me.
Why do we want designer clothes or designer any thing? The price of them is unfathomable. I know many hours, blood, sweat and tears go into the actual work of creating something unique or one of a kind. There’s billions of dollars that promote the name through advertising and promotion of the “name” by celebrities. Just look at the Academy Awards.
But in the branding and the name is the guarantee of quality. They are wonderful investments, they last forever. Shoes can be resoled, purses re-sewn and all of it can be resold. We pause at the shop window and eye those beautiful Louis Vuitton Epi leather handbags. Not a Slurpee’s chance in hell…..
Then I found www.therealreal.com
If you have never heard of them you must investigate NOW. You will be amazed.
They sell designer items at obscene prices. Say, Jimmy Choo shoes for 140 bucks or a $100 Diane von Furstenberg dress. An Yves Saint Laurent purse for $200 instead of $1,300.
What is so fabulous about this site is a 3rd party guarantees the authenticity of the product.
The RealReal offers pre-owned, designer fashion including Chanel, Hermès, Manolo Blahnik and Cartier — up to 90% off retail prices. They eliminate the uncertainty of purchasing luxury goods online.
There are similar websites but some of them just don’t offer a steal and that’s what I want!
Besides the amazing discounted prices, they have flash sales, or weekend coupons for EVEN more discounts!
