Who doesn’t love Anthropologie? From clothes to home goods, their designs can be funky, a little bit vintage, trendy chic and always, always unique. But what I don’t like is the price tag on things that seem, well, quite simple enough to make myself.
So…I did just that!
I saw a tutorial a while back for a DIY project and it turned out great.
Here’s the original from Anthropologie:
Seems easy enough to replicate, yes?
Here are your supplies. Count them! Four not including the letters. Too easy so far.
Craft Letters / Black Craft Paint / Metallic Silver Craft Paint / Paint Brush/Paint Sponge
Next, paint the letters in black. Don’t forget to put down some plastic sheeting.
After it dries, take a DRY paintbrush, and dip a little bit of metallic paint and brush away.
The letters can turn out more silver looking, or less. It just depends on your silverish kind of mood.
Don’t worry about messing up, it’s supposed to look like a bit of a mess. It’s that easy!
This is the first set I made. Perfect for our kitchen.
I love this weathered, tarnished look.
This craft is simple, takes less than 15 minutes and it’s cheap.
Happy DIYing!
This is such a great post, I love Anthropologie and I hate that a lot of their stuff is so easily made…I love what you chose to DIY.
