We bought a juicer about a month ago.
I have wanted a juicer for a long time.
I was very hesitant to buy one though due to the cost and work that is involved in making them.
Costco was selling this pretty beast for $79.
We did it.
I LOVE IT!
I juice almost everyday! I love drinking my veggies instead of eating them.
My favorite recipe is:
2 handfuls of spinach or 1 bunch of kale
2 Green Apples
1 Celery stock
1 thumb print size Ginger
If Nick is lucky I get up early enough in the morning to make him one!
I feel like drinking this 1st thing in the morning energizes me. I get hungry REALLY fast after I drink it, but a small snack usually fixes that.
What I love is how much good stuff I am drinking every morning!
Another favorite recipe is:
4 Large Carrots
4 Oranges (peeled)
1 thumbprint size Ginger (optional)
My parents recently purchased a juicer as well. My mom called me feeling defeated as she said she has tried so many recipes and they are all gross. The smell of kale was making her dry heave. I asked her what she was making “well, today I used kale, tomatoes, green peppers, I like the spiciness of jalapenos so I added just a little of that, I can’t remember what else I used” –
“Mom! are you making salsa?”
Insert Mother laugh!
“Well I don’t know, these recipes are so complicated, and kale… I just cant do it!”
Well, I gave her some good recipes, including the ones above.
Today: “Hi mom, how was the juice?” mom “Well I liked it, I put in half a cucumber..”
Interrupt “mom! the recipe calls for a whole cucumber, its all about balance”
mom ” Well your father didn’t like it” After a continued talk as to why they didn’t appreicate this recipe
I said ” are you poring your juice over ice?” mom” Of course!”
“Are you drinking it straight from the cup?”
“That’s why you don’t like it!! Drinking it from the cup is gross, you get all that foam and smell!!”
Insert a lot of laughing!
My mom is just the cutest! I love how she can laugh at herself and then thanks me for helping her.
Its just juice people.
Today I felt like a rockstar for finally knowing more about something than my parents!
