Living in Las Vegas, which is desert country, the landscape and weather really don’t change. Maybe once in awhile we get some unusual weather but all in all it’s simply desert. The only way you know summer is waning is a drop in temperature, like down to 75 degrees.
People live here for exactly those reasons.
However, having lived on the east coast for many years, I miss the changing seasons. So with anticipation, I look forward to my trip to Seattle, Washington in a week. I’m craving cold weather, foggy windows, and hot chocolate in some little, hip restaurant in Pioneer Square.
I want to take a ferry to one of the islands, take in sea smells and enjoy the rain.
Plus I get to wear my new boots!
What do I take? Boots, sweaters, raincoat, scarf and head wrap. Oh! An umbrella of course! Some bright ridiculous one as I’m told it’s a little gray there but people are notoriously cheerful and friendly. Plus and a must, a hair straightener as we plan on seeing the sights, splashing through mud puddles, spending the day at the waterfront and shopping at Pike’s Place Market. I will have a lot of frizzy hair.
These are a few things on my wish list, I am so excited to be there in less than one week now!
